OUR STORY

The Big Door Broadcast story began during the Covid-19 pandemic, when social distancing measures prevented people from gathering for events and festivals. With so many cancellations and closures, a group of artists, musicians, and performers came together to organize an online festival that could be enjoyed from the safety of home.

The festival was a huge success, attracting a global audience and showcasing some incredible talent. As the team reflected on the experience, they realized that there was a huge opportunity to help other organizations in the arts, charity, and religious sectors who were struggling to reach their audiences during lockdowns and restrictions.

To do this, they decided to invest in an Outside Broadcast (OB) van, which would allow them to capture high-quality video and audio recordings of live events and stream them online in real-time. They set up a new company, called Big Door Broadcast, and began offering their services to organizations around the country.

Their first clients were churches, who were keen to offer virtual services to their congregations during lockdowns. Big Door Broadcast quickly gained a reputation for the quality of their streams, with viewers commenting on how much more engaging and immersive the experience was than simply watching a pre-recorded video.

Word quickly spread, and soon they were getting bookings from theaters, music venues, and even festivals who were keen to offer a virtual alternative to their cancelled events. Big Door Broadcast was able to help these organizations reach a much wider audience than they ever could have with in-person events alone.

As the pandemic eased and restrictions lifted, Big Door Broadcast continued to thrive, offering their services to organizations who were looking for new and innovative ways to engage with their audiences. They also continued to invest in the latest technology, such as multi-camera setups and 360-degree video, to ensure that their streams remained at the cutting edge of what was possible.

Looking back, the team at Big Door Broadcast were proud of what they had achieved. What started as a simple idea for an online festival had turned into a thriving business, helping to connect people and communities during a time of great uncertainty and isolation
